One of the things I like most about spending a few days in La Santa is that you don\u2019t need a car to be surrounded by nature. Just step outside and, within minutes, you\u2019ll be walking among volcanoes, lava fields and some of Lanzarote\u2019s wildest coastline.<\/p>

These are some of the routes I most often recommend to guests staying at Garage La Santa. They\u2019re not necessarily the most famous, but they\u2019re some of the best ways to experience this part of the island.<\/p>

La Santa Volcano<\/strong><\/p>

If I could only recommend one walk, it would be this one.<\/p>

You can walk straight from the house to the trail that leads up La Santa Volcano. It isn\u2019t a difficult route, and the view is more than worth it. From the top, you get one of the best views of the village, the ocean and Lanzarote\u2019s entire north-west coast.<\/p>

It\u2019s also my favourite place to watch the sunset. I often walk up in the evening with just a camera and something to drink, then sit for a while and look out at the sea.<\/p>

Monta\u00f1a de Soo<\/strong><\/p>

Another easy walk, best done around sunrise or towards the end of the day.<\/p>

From the top, you get incredible views across the Soo desert and the Famara cliffs. It\u2019s a very peaceful place and you\u2019ll usually find few other people there, especially during the week.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Caldera Blanca<\/strong><\/p>

Although it has become quite popular in recent years, this is still one of Lanzarote\u2019s essential walks.<\/p>

Walking around the edge of a crater more than a kilometre wide is an experience you won\u2019t easily forget. If you can, arrive early to avoid the hottest part of the day.<\/p>

Las Malvas Beach<\/strong><\/p>

This isn\u2019t a mountain walk, but a route along one of the wildest stretches of coastline on the island.<\/p>

The beach has black volcanic sand and is usually completely empty. It really captures the character of this part of Lanzarote. It isn\u2019t a beach for swimming, but it\u2019s a great place to walk, take photographs or simply sit and listen to the ocean.<\/p>

The coast between La Santa and Tenesar<\/strong><\/p>

One of the area\u2019s lesser-known routes.<\/p>

Following the coast, you\u2019ll come across old fishermen\u2019s paths, small volcanic coves and landscapes that are still almost untouched. It\u2019s a good route if you enjoy walking at your own pace, away from the busier spots.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

A quick tip<\/h4>

Lanzarote\u2019s landscape may look dry, but the sun and wind can make the same walk feel very different depending on the time of day.
