Since the 2000s, the garage has held a special place in the village of La Santa. First, because of how my father built it—entirely self-taught and very slowly, working on it Sunday by Sunday. He balanced his full-time job—over 40 hours a week—with the construction of the building.

I discovered surfing, and it became my passion; I began spending more and more time there—first weekends, then entire summers—until eventually, it became my home. Back then, all my friends would end up at the garage; it became the local hangout spot for the village youth. We surfed, took photos, played music, threw parties, and so on. That space hosted everything: a surf school, a gym, a music studio, and a family storage area where all the odds and ends no one wanted in their own homes ended up.

When I started traveling and pursuing my education, the place fell somewhat into neglect; I began dedicating more time to design, advertising, and music than to surfing and nature. However, as time passed and I matured, I reached a turning point—especially after the pandemic—when I felt the need to return to the island and reconnect with what truly grounds me in life.

That’s when I decided to renovate the garage and redesign its layout, applying everything I had learned during more than a decade away working in creative direction. In early 2021, alongside a crew of family members—including my father—we began the renovation, finishing the project in November. Since then, the space has evolved from simply being “Adri’s garage” into “Garage La Santa.”
